Ferris Bueller's Animal Planet

We don't know what has come over the scientists who run the California Academy of Sciences - maybe they inhaled too much formaldehyde or something - but they are going all wacky on us. This Thursday, they are hosting an 80's party at the aquarium featuring 80's movies, cocktails and live alligators. It's part of their adult-oriented Third Thursday program where grownups can explore the world of marine sciences without any of those little crying larvae getting in the way.

Because apparently adults like to stumble drunkenly into the gaping maw of an apex predator.

The doors open at 5pm this Thursday, and admission is $5. Music will be provided by cool-guy-about-town, Marc Fong. The Academy is located on 875 Howard Street, right by the Metreon and the MoMA and all of that other stuff that is oh so frequently ruined by children.
