What's this? Another warm body whose biological and technological distinctiveness we are adding to our own? That's right: today we welcome Runamuck to the CONSUME family. A tricksy gentleman whose main pleasures in life seem to be beer and the Transformers (not necessarily in that order), he's keepin' it real out there on the Left Coast. Represent! (Just a reminder, if you haven't guessed already: I am very, very white.)

Relax, faithful CONSUME reader! Rest assured that you HAVEN'T slipped into some sort of timewarp to August 25, 1976, when the hottest album of the day was a plucky little self-titled collection by a group of no-name East Coasters...

No, this is just a small announcement to let you know that CONSUME will be taking a small hiatus in that rockin' town of baked beans, terriers, Red Sox and a metric buttload of history: Boston! As such, posting will be non-existent until July 23rd.

I KNOW. CONSUME will miss you, too. If you're really nice, it will send you a postcard. In the meantime, this should be JUST enough time to turn off the computer, stretch your atrophied limbs and remind yourself how much fresh air and sunshine kind of suck.

OK, another new author coming atcha: the lovely Elliterate, who is an honest-to-god editor person in real life, as opposed to yours truly, who just plays one on teh interwebs. (I'm going to start QUADRUPLE-checking my posts for grammar mistakes from now on.) I'm so pleased to welcome Ms. Eloquence to the fold; I know she'll bring the classy like no one's business. (I'VE certainly given up trying to bring it... :>)

Over the coming weeks, you're going to see some new names popping up here at CONSUME as we add to our nefarious illustrious pool of authors who are always on the lookout for the next bit of AWESOME to bring you. These suckers wonderful souls have kindly volunteered their mad web-diving skillz and bottomless wells of personal snark to make CONSUME your go-to blog for all that will be hot tomorrow.

Our first new author is Ms. bringonthescience, who hails from beautiful, Mafia-friendly New Jersey. When she's not working out with St. Teresa of Ass-Kicking, crafting robot flower pots or attending classes in her gig as a model student, she'll be writing about all the products you never knew you needed but suddenly realize you CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT.

Hey. How's it going?

So...you look good. Did you get your hair cut?

Look.

I know I've been gone a long time. I know I said I'd be back and then I totally kind of disappeared there for awhile. I was an idiot. It was totally stupid, and I'm sorry.

I wouldn't blame you if you didn't want to see me anymore. But I've really changed! Seriously. Whole new me. Clean slate.

Things are gonna be different from now on, baby.

On behalf of Team AWESOME, I'd like to say thank you to those of you who have stuck with us. Be on the lookout for lots of changes over the coming weeks and months. We needed some time to clear our heads and work through some stuff, but we're ready to roll again.

Email us sometime. We'd love to go out for drinks.
